Why Ullman Kiteboarding?
"As committed kiters, we’ve been waiting for new sail technology to filter into the kite market with bated breath. As it became apparent that each season brought with it the same-old with a new marketing spin, we decided to take the bold step and create the ideal kites we wanted to fly.
By owning our manufacturing facility and having access to the latest technology available, this is exactly what we’re doing. We don’t conform to the norm and we dare to explore beyond the horizon.
We have been labelled as crazy innovators and we know we will upset the status quo, but we relish the fact that we can share the stoke with other mavericks who share our vision and enthusiasm for the sport.
Ullman Kiteboarding combines a strong sail-making background with passion, innovation and a deep love of the sea."
The Ambition: An Eco-friendly Facility
Ullman Kiteboarding are working towards an energy-efficient and carbon-neutral production facility. They re-purpose waste fabric into functional gear, with the intention of minimising their carbon footprint and being less harmful to the environment that we all love.
The key focus with the Osprey was to design a Wing that is easy to handle. An oversized frame creates a stable platform, giving good power delivery when pumping. The rapid lift and acceleration get you up on the foil sooner.
The low aspect ratio and rounded wingtip keep the wing out the water and in the air. Reinforced scuff patches keep the wing protected from your board or occasional ground strikes.
Multiple handles offer intuitive hand placement on any tack. Handles are covered with neoprene cushioning, which offer a comfortable grip even on extended sessions, and there are incorporated harness loops on the handles for those wishing to use a harness. A handle on the leading edge offers easy handling if the wing becomes inverted, or for holding the wing in a wind neutral position. The Y-handles offer easy hand placement during transitions.
The Dihedral angle makes the wing stable in light and strong winds alike. Leading-edge and strut geometry make it well suited for SUP riding as well as lower volume hydro-foiling boards.
We are the sole UK distributor for Ullman Kiteboarding, but these are bespoke items: feel free to contact us for any information, to find out more, or to find out how quickly you can get your new Wing!
